There’s plenty of cigar sizes. Robustos, Churchills, Torpedos, etc. Is there a difference in smoke, taste or whatnot based on what size of cigar you smoke?

Different vitolas within a brand’s frontmark has nothing to do with its quality.
However, the different ring gauges do impact flavor as the larger it is, the more room there is to ‘fine tune’ the blend. On the other hand, the smaller the ring, the more intense the flavor can be.
Herfnerds got this one.
I just want to add to his post, that diameter and length also affect the flavors from the heat of the ash when you draw.
EX: Notice a difference in the taste of a Churchill when you first light it compared to the taste when its at about 2.5″ (this is also why you want to put some time in between draws -Drawing or puffing often causes the cigar to burn too rapidly and causes over heating, which spoils the flavor.
Actually, this may be what you are saying!
I doubt the size has anything to due with the quality.
