Macanudo’s and Cubans are both very good recommendations. Like anything however, there can be more than one type. Macanudo now has a Robusto and a Maduro which are strong – you wouldn’t like them.
A quick rule of thumb is to look at the wrapper. If it’s a very dark wrapper (or has VSG – virgin sun grown on it) it’s going to be a heavy and strong smoke. You probably wouldn’t like them.
Some recommendations for light cigars would be some Arturo Fuentes, Macanudos, Romeo Y Julieta and 5Vegas Gold. They’re pretty light but not a whole lot of flavor (IMO).
If you want my personal recommendation on the best light cigars that I’ve had I would say Carlos Torano Casa Torano and Perdomo Champagne. Both VERY excellent smokes and my personal favorites.

Here’s a couple more recommendations for you.
La Fontana cigars: A nice light cigar. They dip the ends of these in sugarcane gum which gives it a little sweetness.
Baccaret cigars: Another nice light cigar that most newcomers enjoy.
    Good Luck

Many beginners who want an inexpensive cigar like Swisher Sweets (variety of flavors like vanilla). There are even Khalua flavored cigars. If you want something more sophisticated but still mild try the Zino Cadet.

My suggestions for a mild cigar:
    1. Rocky Patel ‘The Edge Lite’: this is a fine mild cigar with nutty, spicy undertones. Priced around $6 (depending on your state of residence.
    2. Perdomo Champagne (gold wrapper): this fine cigar has some cocoa and nutty undertones. Priced around $6.
    3. Ashton Classic: can’t go wrong with an Ashton, going to be a bit more expensive, priced around $9.
    4. Any moderately priced Macanudo. The more expensive Macanudos are generally an aged tobacoo that is going to be less mild. I would go with either a Mac maduro or a Hampton Court. Usually maduro wrapped cigars are stronger, but the Mac isn’t strong, just very, very smooth. The Macs are usually around $8.
Of these four, my personal favorite is the Perdomo Champagne.
A quick tip. Take your time with the cigar. Try to allow at least a full minute in between tokes. This allows the tobacco to cool and gives you more of the actual tobacco flavors without the acid levels you’re going to taste by smoking a cigar too fast. Enjoy!

Macanudos, you can’t go wrong with their light wrapper and mellow smoke.
