I smoke an occasional cigar from time to time. I smoke probably 2 cigars a month. Do you think that I am putting my health at great risk? They are relaxing, but I am worrying about the health hazards. Tell me what you think!!!!

an occasional cigar is not going to harm your overall health.
i think you will be fine. that is a very moderate amount of tabacco intake.
Eventually you’ll buy an old raincoat, a Peugot 403 and start irritating people with incessant questions before you accuse them of murder.
I am in the same boat as you, and I researched for hours on the dangers of smoking cigars. What I found was that taken in moderation, cigars are not significantly a health risk. The anti-tobacco groups spread near propaganda on the dangers of cigars. Beware of the statistics they use, they are usually representative of people who smoke a pack a day of cigarettes, or 2-3 cigars a day. That is a ton of cigars to go through. Like you, most cigar smokers only smoke on occasion, either 2-3 a week, or like you and me, 2-3 a month. Cigarettes smokers inhale significant amounts of smoke into their lungs increasing their risk for respiratory illnesses. Cigar smokers don’t inhale the smoke, it merely comes in contact with the mouth. Therefore, your lungs are much safer smoking cigars than cigarettes. The danger of cigars comes in the mouth. The direct contact between the cigar and your mouth is one of the main areas of concern. If you do get cancer, that is where it will be, but at a 2 a month rate, your risk is very slim. You will inhale some cigar smoke due to second-hand smoking. This smoke can cause respiratory problems, but again, at a 2 a month rate, very low risk. Cigars are very natural, there are no added ingredients, they aren’t treated, all decent cigars are 100% tobacco. Cigarettes on the other hand use treated tobacco and the paper is treated so that it burns evenly. Thus, smoking cigarettes introduces unnatural chemicals into your body. Sorry if this is long and boring. My point that I’m trying to say is that cigars are much safer than cigarettes from the amount that you smoke, again 1pack=2-3 cigars. There is no doubt that you are increasing health risks by smoking period, but the fact is, only smoking a few times a month will not significantly increase any health risks. So don’t worry, we will all die eventually, enjoy your couple of cigars, they probably won’t be the thing that kills you.
2 a month? No problem. So long as you don’t let the frequency creep on you, I wouldn’t worry about it. I mean, you’re not inhaling, so you’re not increasing your risk of lung cancer any more that you would if you were exposed to second hand smoke two days a month. Even mouth, tongue and throat cancer are usually caused by the constant irritation of smoke, heat and friction. Going two weeks between smokes makes this much less of a risk. Relax, kick back, light up a stogie and let this pester you no more!
You don’t inhale cigars anyway, at least you aren’t supposed to, I highly doubt you’re risking your health that much.
i would never smoke. although there are people who are worse then you. you are still putting your health at risk.
try to quit or cut back. find something else to do to relax.
