The difference between Cuban cigars and others is after rolling, the cubans use a very proficient technique of aging the cigars. They use fart fumes to marry them….. In cigar factories in Cuba, they have a farting line, where they eat certain foods and fart inside a humidor. Then, they throw the rolled cigars inside the fart fumed humidor and let them age before shipping. Fart fumes is key to cuban cigars.
@faakid what a waste
mmmmmmmmmmm those are good
@Cigar Bunch either way, it was goood.
yes they are. many people say smoking a cohiba without aging is wasting its full potential
@faakid Probably a different cohiba, lanceros or esplendido.
@diddymuck Lol…
I’m 10 years old. My dad had one sitting on his table. So I jacked it and smoked it in the wash. It was longer and skinnier though. They are good. Now he uses the box for money and stuff.
could you send me one please? Please?
true about the first sentence… I have just begun smoking and I tried the Exquisitos and it was not nice at all!! Just binned it after like an inch!!
Very cool video, take a look at our blog and let us know what you think, we follow each other on Twitter as-well!
It is possible to humidify a cigar to the point where it loses some of it’s flavor. In general however most experts will tell you 40 or 50 years is not an uncommon amount of time to allow a cigar to age. to it’s peak of flavor. As a general rule of thumb the stronger the tobacco and the larger the type of cigar the longer it takes to reach it’s peak taste. Even with that said cigars that are kept for even longer periods (like the 1920 Roby Burns) do not go bad, they just become more mellow.
I wonder if cigars that old, even humidified better than properly, are still smokable..
@ECheGuevera pics on puff? i saw some pictures of them. Lucky guy.
It’s nice to be able to buy cubans here but they are ridiculously expensive. Tobacco duty here is like 100%. You propbably get far superior prices in Hong Kong and Spain. This box of Cohiba’s is £415/$655.
You would know the markings better than I my friend. ‘what you say sounds reasonable enough so I will take it at face value.
That’s true, but the point is that they don’t put the stamp on unless they can verify authenticity. Hunter’s and Frankau is the sole importer of cuban cigars to the UK, and they are one of, if not the most respected cigar merchants in the world. Also, my boxes do have all of the five stamps you mentioned, plus the ‘totalmente a mano’ stamp which proves that they are handmade. I agree with you that you have to be very careful about buying cuban cigars.
Most Cohiba’s are a bit on the strong side for a first time smoker. Arturo Fuente aren’t bad buy don’t buy anything cheaper than the Hemingway. Fuente’s cheap cigars are shit. If I could make a recommendation if you want to try a GREAT CUBAN that is on the mild side but is excellent buy a Cuaba. If you want a bigger smoke buy the Solomon it has a ring gage of about 56, it is around 7 inches long and is tapered at both ends. I can make one of these babies last a couple of hours easy.
I live part time in Canada and part time in the U.S. I consider myself a collector and I probably have about 2,500 cigars in my humidor the majority of which are Cuban. I do like some non-Cubans particularly the Padron 1926 and Padron 1964. I recently bought a box of 50 cigars from a collector in the states that were pre-embargo Cubans (which are legal in the U.S. The cigar was a Robby Burns and was made in the 1920′s and were box pressed.
Not sure about the UK mate. I buy mine in Cuba or through the internet out of Hong Kong or Spain the two biggest sellers of Cubans in the world. I still maintain that the UK government can put any kind of stamp they want to on the box but unless it has the five markings I alluded to earlier all you have are fakes with a U.K. government label on them.
You buy any Cuban’s in Mexico and I will guarantee that 99% are fakes. Sorry pal but unless they are a licensed Habanos shop all you are going to get is Mexican donkey shit.
It helps in the UK, because all cuban imports have English Market Selection stamps on the lid as proof of authenticity.
donkey shit? LMAO WHen I go to puerto vallarta i buy cubans, thats the only place I have access to them
ive only smoked 2 of those in my life, well me and my friends split them, we stole em from my dads friend when we were like 15 haha and then again @17 lol they are awesome, made me light headed
Lift the embargo!
